1.1 Why have we introduced ticket prices for the Festival?
The London Festival of Genomics has doubled in size over the last two years, with 1,700 attendees at the last event. This year, we’re expecting over 2,000. It’s become a much more expensive event to run.
The costs of running such a fast-growing and popular event, particularly when free to attend, are not sustainable. So, this year, we’ve introduced the option of paying a small sum of money to attend.
In line with our social mission, we are supporting Cancer Research UK and PgEd by making a contribution in the form of a donation to each charity from our end-user revenue,
pgEd – Personal Genetics Education Project. This incredible not-for-profit organization works to increase awareness and conversation about the benefits and ethical, legal and social implications of personal genetics. You can find more details here: https://pged.org/
Cancer Research UK. A charity that you’ll all be familiar with, they fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner, also providing invaluable cancer information to the public. Find out more here:https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/
1.2. Can I still attend the Festival for free?
Yes! We feel strongly that the doors of the Festival should never be closed to genomics end-users. If you will benefit from attendance at the Festival, and are an end user (NHS, not-for-profit, pharma) who does not have the budget to pay to attend, all you have to do is click the free option in our table.
This is a guilt-free option. All we ask is that if you DO have the ability to pay, then you choose one of the paid-for options. But no questions are asked if you don’t.
- I’m happy to pay, but my designated price is too expensive. Can I select another paid option?
If you would like to attend but can't afford to pay the designated price then please email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss what options are available.
- How does my ticket price contribute towards running costs?
Each Festival costs in the region £500,000 to put on. Your contribution helps pay for the cost of room/venue hire, AV, theatre build, speakers, seating, carpets and much, much more. It also subsidizes free tickets for those who cannot afford to pay.
2. Service/Solution-Provider Tickets/Packages
Solution Providers are an integral part of the Festival. The Festival is around 90% funded by sponsors and exhibitors at the Festival, each of whom have a product or service they feel would be valuable to end users.
At the same time, most of the solution-providers in attendance use the Festival to engage with existing and potential customers. In fact, with the audience profile we have, the Festival has become the very best place in Europe to do so. Because of that direct commercial benefit, and to protect the interests of exhibitors and sponsors who already fund the Festival, we have introduced paid-for tickets for solution-provider attendees – particularly those in marketing, sales and BD roles. These tickets are very limited and we recommend registering at your earliest possible convenience to secure your ticket.
Tickets are £499 to £899, depending on when you book. They have been priced extremely competitively compared to much smaller and less-well attended conferences.

- I am a solution-providerand accidentally select an end user option to attend (free or paid tickets). What happens next?
We screen all registration carefully as part of our security process. We will simply contact you, point out the error, and invite you to register at the solution-providerprice.
- I work for a solution-provider, but I’m a scientist/engineer and have no plan to use the Festival for sales/marketing/lead generation etc. Do I have to pay the solution-providerprice?
We have a small number of tickets available for you. They are available at a discounted price, on an application basis. To apply for one of these tickets, contact us at: Caolan@frontlinegenomics.com with ‘Solution-providerScientist’ in the email title. You will need to supply proof of your job title.
2.1 Recruitment Companies
The Festival of Genomics is now the largest genomics event in the UK, and the second largest in Europe. As the Festival has grown, we have seen more and more recruitment companies attend. While professional recruiters are an important part of the ecosystem, we received multiple complaints from exhibitors and other attendees about recruiters' aggressive practices at the Festival.
For that reason, we are limiting the number of recruitment companies to three this year, and have recruiter packages available to ensure that the Festival works in the best interests of recruiters AND Festival attendees.
